She had used the thirties and forties fabrics which have a different make up of chemicals than todays fabrics and the fabric ripped and tore in spots in almost all of the fabrics. Just want to save you some grief!
I would get some advice on laundering them before you think about washing. This board came help you with any thing quilt related. They are wonderful people.
