That is truly sad Knitette. And useful to note that just because they come from there they are not necessarily any cheaper for you.
But today I was at the PO again and I got some info on the international shipping. The rate for a parcel is for any weight up to 4 pounds, so if it is a pound or 3, or 4 it is going to be the same price-and you fill out the smaller customs form. If it is over 4 lbs. the rate is higher
but you can get insurance on the package-I didn't ask what it went up to nor how much the insurance would cost. So next time I will plan on getting as close to the 4 without going over.
