I didn't know that method wasn't common. That's how I have always done cross hatching by machine.
Been doing this for many years, did not now that it was not common either....I don't mark, if there is a "square" to eyeball I just go for it. If I want closer quilting I just go in-between the lines...very simple way to quilt if you think about it.
