I also have Janomes (7700, 6600, 5200) and I love the needle threaders. One (the 7700 I think) the little wire was going to the side of the needle and I was able to gently tweak it back into position with my fingernail. A seam ripper or small screwdriver blade would work too..but just be gentle with whatever you use. Haven't had a problem with mine since and that was a couple of years or more ago.
