I just spotted a photo of a page in the 1933 Catalogue and Price List (UK) on a blog page. It indicates on page 11 that the Singer Model 15k is the “Dressmaker’s Machine”,
I immediately thought "201" and they did come out after 1933, but I also thought the 66 was its predecessor for the title.
That said, my grandmother was a tailoress and she used a 15k, so who knows?
They're all amazingly good machines, and I'd be happy to make a dress with any of them. Unfortunately I'm without a working 15k (Amelia stole it last week
- take that!).
