If you are going to quilt it yourself, I would start with stitch in the ditch. I would then free motion quilt around the appliqués. At that point, I would think about how much more I wanted to do. If you send your quilt out to a long armer, ask them for suggestions that would avoid the appliqué. Check out some of the free motion classes on Craftsy. They are terrific.
