A zig-zag attachment. Do you know how that works? You attach it to the machine, and the "fabric" moves back and forth. Does it work? Yes, but only if the fabric is quite substantial or is starched or something. I made a skirt for my baby cradle in 1956, and the fabric was too soft, but it looked cute anyway.
My 301A is installed at the same level as the one in the picture, but I have the extended table, so I can lift that up to change the bobbin without having to lift the machine out of the table.
