My grandma did something similar with me when I was about 10, though the quilt I made was much smaller - and it still needs a finished binding, since she made me do every single step! I love that I share this bond with her and I feel so lucky that she's taught me and encouraged me in my quilting every step of the way. So - your grandkids are lucky, too!
