I have used minky many times for kids quilts and chemo quilts and never had a problem at all. I lay the minky out on my table and tape it down with duct tape to keep it from shifting while making the sandwich, then smooth out the batting if desired and smooth the top onto that. I have always used saftey pins, but think that I'm going to try basting next time so I don't have to be so constantly aware of removing pins as I go. Be sure to clean your machine afterwards...it can get fuzzed up. Thanks for looking.
