Lynnie In my household we are VERY technology savvy people.

For ME I have the following:
1 desktop computer (1-1/2 yr old)
1 netbook (mini laptop without a cd/dvd drive)
1 laptop (regular fullsize 15" screen)
1 iPod (this is the second one wore the first out)
1 iPad first generation
1 android smart phone

My hubs on the other is the REAL household computer guru/geek
and he wears that title (geek) proudly, he has been working on
computers since the early 1980's when he got his first appleII.

On his desk he has about 7-10 computers, one just for doing nothing
but collecting his email, one that is our internet server, one is the router
for the phones, one just for out movies, one is the home network, one or
two are just for his regular internet use, and I can't begin to name the uses
of all the others he has.

Than he also has the following devices:
1 netbook
1 laptop
1 Nexus tablet
1 android smart phone that is his regular use phone
and about 3 older decommissioned smart phones to use in the car or jeep
(depending which vehicle he is driving)
2 tomtom GPS each one set up with different functioins

Now I am not sure what all he uses the smart phones for, but I DO know
that one of them is hardwired into the Jeep to keep a check on motor temperature.

If any one asks him "why?" does he have all the gadgets, electronics, computers
etc... his answer is always....... why not? and because I can.

Right now he is working on the new antenna set up so we can get rid of the Dish
Network. The oldest daughter works for Dish and she had set it up for us to receive
her employee discount, meaning that we got ALL the premium channels (hbo, max etc...)
for about $21 per month. But she is getting ready to move into a new apt. that will
allow her to set up a satellite dish. That meant our monthly dish bill was going to
go back up to $106 per month and even cutting all the channels we didn't want
the bill was only going to come down to $76.

We knew the day was coming when we would loose the satellite and hubs has been
working on alternative tv viewing and recording for us, he just about has everything
ready.

So getting the new (to me) iPad is going to really help as I will be able to set
up an app on the newer ipad that will let me watch movies from out movie computer
or stream programs that I like to watch such as my 1 (and only) soap that I record
daily right now.

I know that was a long winded post... sorry if I went so far over everyone's head
with details.
