I test drove that Janome MC 7700 a few years ago at a major quilt show and fell in love with it. That's the one with the red on the front. If I didn't have a longarm, I think that would be a great machine for free motion quilting, with all the light and throat space. And it has upper and lower feed dogs, a non negotiable requirement for me in a sewing machine. I have read recently of some (not all) owners having a problem with this machine, and I can't remember what the common problem was (sorry). So do some research on that. I'm not familiar with the Babylock Esante, but own the Babylock Serenade, which I love, love, love.
