There are a lot of industrials that have a "pedal" like a treadle machine, but the lever controls a bigger motor with a clutch. the electric sockets (outlets) are nice if you have extra lights or something like that to plug in. It's basically have a built in power strip. I've had a lot of larger tables that I've mounted a power strip underneath. In fact, my ironing area has one for the irons and other things we may want to plug in there.
Ah, Cathy, thanks for that explanation. Makes sense now as I have seen those industrials but never up close and personal. I also have a power strip in my studio with a couple of machines and lights hooked up to it. Makes it easier to add another something to plug in or turn off everything at once.
