I figured it out in bed last night! If you trim off the dog ears with the easy angle, it is super simple. Just line it up and use your quarter inch foot with the guide along the edge. Perfect!

I am doing step 2 using a base rectangle cut 2.5 x 4.5 and precut triangles. I lay the triangle on the rectangle and sew using the edge as a guide. Then I can check my block accuracy, trim the extra background piece out or not (one quilt book I has does not) No bias edges, templates, or lines to draw.

I printed a previous one that someone put on here with doing strips. It was 26 pages! Used up all my ink! Now I don't even plan on doing them that way. Live and learn!
