jeanne49 - some have said that the 'wear & tear' (not destruction) add to the charm of the postcard; the hand stamp, etc.

One thought, though, if you're concerned would be to have the postcard hand stamped/canceled at the PO desk then put it in a clear envelope to protect it for mailing. Just a thought - - -

I will consider all the great suggestions and come up with something. I'm glad you're having fun with this!
