my understanding is there so close, just like the 70/80's 15 reporo's that all parts interchange

paint it Rusty O Red add the repro singer decals and Bingo, it's 800$ machine.
Any parts you order "new" for a featherweight these days are made by AlphaSew. This machine is probably from the same factory.

What you suggest would definitely fool some people. The dead giveaway for anyone who's lived with a fw for any amount of time would be the badge and the lack of the proper singer part numbers stamped on the various parts.

I will say, since I have a FW in pieces right now for a painting - it's at the auto body shop right now "being worked on" - that $800 for someone to supply you the machine and do the disassembly and the paint job and the reassembly is a steal of a deal!

Would it ever! I have a list of people who I'm supposed to call if I ever want to sell mine and it grows almost everytime someone comes into the studio for the first time.
