Piker - I never wash my material before I cut it up and sew into quilt. Others on the board wash everything and dry and fold it before ever taking it into the quilt room. They only starch it just before cutting it for a quilt. By the way, I spray my starch on the back of my material then iron/press on the front. No flakes that way.
