I love Mary Ellen's best press. (such a cool name! hehehe!) But mostly I use Niagara Sizing. It is called a finishing spray and it does not leave the fabric stiff, just a hint of body. Gosh, I sound like a hair commercial! O I don't often wash the quilt before gifting it because I like the feel of the "new" fabric.
