But otherwise, why not use a solid square alternating with 9-patches? I think I have some fat-quarters I've been saving for a baby quilt size that would work well with this pattern, but I'm not sure I want to do the detailed piecing. Just curious how tiny are those small squares?
All the strips are 2.5 inches wide and the pattern tells you exactly how many strips and lengths to cut. After a bit, you just know how many to cut from each fat quarter. If you pm me, I can be more specific.
