Default quilt made from wedding dress

At Christmastime, my DIL asked me to make a quilt out of her wedding dress for their daughter's first birthday next month. It will be used as a wall hanging. Her dress wasn't very ornate but she had sewn sea shell buttons and some pearls on her veil. The dress was mostly satin with a chiffon train and I also used some tulle from her veil in the blocks. She had already disassembled the dress, so I didn't have to deal with the first cut.

This is the end result. I hope it isn't too 'quirky' but I enjoyed doing it. She wanted to stay with white fabric, so the cotton I used for sashing is WOW with starfish designs. I tried some silk ribbon embroidery (first time) on a couple of blocks. Daffodils are her favorite flower, so I hope my ribbon embroidery is identifiable as such! The other embroidery on the blocks was done with white thread on my sewing machine. They had a beach wedding and she wore flip flops, so I bought buttons to symbolize that.

I'll be mailing it across the country soon. I hope she likes it!
