Buying kits just isn't on my financial horizon, unless there is one whale of a big sale going on.
Also, I have found that there can be a substitution of fabric in a kit. So, I definitely would check that out as well.
Some of the fusible kits, like for the Tree of Life are precut with the fusible already on the material.
