Navy. Add cream if you are doing flower or something in those small blocks. Navy would look good on that background fabric but with the number of blocks, it would drag the tone of the quilt too low. I would only use red is you are one heck of a quilter as your handiwork will show up.
If you got it, flaunt it, if not, play it safe with navy.
