One of my woman's club is a French Canadian, and a gourmet
cook. This is one of my favorites of her offerings. This is very
good in our present cold, rainy weather, served with hot tea!

1 or 2 Large can of water chestnuts
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of catsup
slices of bacon

Roll each chestnut with a slice of bacon and fix with wooden
tooth pick.

Mix sugar and catsup and put over chestnuts in oven proof pan.
Bake 350 till catsup is thick, stirring now and then, about 20 or
so minutes. Change to new pan. The first one will be gummy.
Then cook 10 minutes or more,
watching till the catsup mix is thick and the bacon well done.
Serve hot.
