Me too. I use 2-piece leather belts on two of my treadles that I use regularly, so that I can change heads in them by simply changing the shortest of the two pieces of belting for a different length belt requirement. I crimp one end of the metal clips so that they stay with the longer piece of belting, but I leave the other ends open for easy off and on removal of the short belting piece.
Still, I can’t get even one click out of my belts for some reason. Maybe the pulleys on my machines are deep enough to allow a space under the belt while the belt grips on both sides of the pulley? I finally had to back-off one of my cone bearings on my treadle pedal to get a pleasant clank in place of a belt click so that I wouldn’t feel left out not having a click.
