Thank you to all for great suggestions. The pattern, and my original plan, had been to make a twin. When I realized there wouldn't be enough fabric, I decided to keep it as a lap size. My quilt group thought it would be too small. I know raffles rarely raise even the price of the fabric, but I'm donating it anyway, so any funds it brings in will be fine and bring attention to our group.
I always buy extra fabric, but decided to trust the pattern so as not to have lots is leftovers. I should have gone ahead and bought extra as usual. What are a few more scraps, right?
