Wow, I did not expect so many replies.

I guess I am lucky to have always lived in homes with big east and west facing windows. I have lots of natural light, even my long arm room in the basement gets lots of indirect bright light.

Funny, I have always had cats, but never once worried about them and house plants, yet server people here mentioned them as a concern. Not to say my cats have not played with the vining plants, but I just consider that to be pruning.

I remember years ago hearing that philodendrons were poisonous. I had a guinea pig as a child that used to eat the long air roots. Caused the guinea no harm at all, she lived to the ripe old age of 12.

The weather has turned much cooler here in the last couple days, we will have more warm days, but it is time to start to make room for the plants that have spent the summer on the deck.
