I chimed in on this thread to say that I am ready to organize my fabric. I am happy to say that phase 1 is done. It involved getting rid of a lot of good things that were really no good to me. I have 3 4X6 cabinets in my sewing room. Over time, sweaters, blouses and a myriad of other things had crept into the cabinets. Then I realized that my past life and the things from it were in the way of my future. I boldly gave away stored professional attire from BEFORE I retired and my DH fitted the hanging spaces with shelves which now hold my quilting fabric, sorted by color!
I am a happier person! I still have other areas to attack, but this is my first met goal. It feels good!
