The Carpenter Star is at Maryquilts (see link in above post), the braided border was from quilterscache.

Put the two together with 9 batiks (8 in the star and one background) and you have my daughter's birthday quilt. You can use many fewer fabrics. I have one cut out with only two colors and a background. I rarely purchase patterns, so I hope this helps.
