I agree with this. I bought a used Gammill--there is no way I could have afforded a new one when I got mine in 2013. Since you said that you won't be doing anything larger than a wallhanging,anyway not yet it sounds like the future might bring some larger quilts. I'd suggest you get as large of machine as you have space and can afford. Used are fine.
