Under the bottom wall shelf (that is above my Bernina machine) are 5 8" led strips. They have regular electrical outlet plugs that are connected to an extension cord and all plug into one outlet. These work great for task lights.
For general lighting, on the ceiling we mounded 7 18" light strips that are plugged into extension cords that are plugged into light-switch-controlled outlets; one flick of a switch and all seven come on. Next time the bulbs need replacing, they'll be changed to led strips. They're mounted above the cutting table, ironing station and 2 desks. There are also some task lights over the 2 desks and led light strip in the throat of one machine. Lot's of light for my changing eye sight.
