Usually around the beginning of the year there are a number of new BOM that come up that are free. I use to do a lot of them but have fallen away in the last 10 years. I have enough patterns stored from various BOM patterns that I have them printed up in scrapbooks so I can do them when every I want to and more quickly than one a month.
They are a great way to join in a fun activity and for me they can be as much fun ans mystery quilts. In many instances I get to interact with quilters from around the world.
The QB has one here and there that have been shared from time to time. The good thing is you can join in the fun anytime. You just might have to play catch up to get earlier blocks. I have one I am doing now that I missed 2 months on and now I have to buy the pattern
. The rest I am picking up monthly so I don't have a fee for the pattern. I will make them up when I get a bit more organized here at home.
