I'm not sure hand-quilting on this one is a good idea. Depending on how the hexie is made and the quilt design you are using, you could be trying to get a needle through 4 layers of chintz, background fabric, batting and backing and a thick thread. Whew, that'd be tough. I recently had a GFG quilted on a longarm with a paragraph design and I love how it turned out. For the edge/binding I'm hand sewing hexagons around the edge on the back. Good luck. Use a good thimble, sharp needle which you'll replace fairly often. We'd love to see your progress!
