vborck, I love the little quilt you made. The colors are great. Would you care to share where you got the pattern? I'd like to make one like it. Thanks, Janis

It was actually a tutorial from this board- Danmar posted it for the Carpenters Star. It was very easy to follow, I just need to work on those darn star points! But I hope to make more of them, I love the pattern. Here is the link:

Thank you. Is there a book or program that shows you how to do this?
I first learned about the D9P here on the board, and I Googled 'disappearing 9 patch' and found directions of how to do it. To simplify it, you make a 9 patch block and cut it down the center of the center blocks and across the center of the center side blocks. You have just cut your one block into 4 equal but different smaller squares. Play with just turning them 1/4 turn and see what you come out with. It's a neat way to get a quilt of squares, rectangles and little squares without cutting them all. The corner blocks will always be squares, the middle top, middle sides, and the middle bottom squares will become rectangles, and the very center block will be small blocks. Does this help?

Yes it does janis! Thank you very much! I will have to give that a try!
