I can't remember where I found the block for my quilt. I just knew I wanted to do a red/white/blue one and the white fabric (Heidi Grace from JoAnn's) had the right red and navy with a little lighter blue in it so I built around that. I then rearranged the squares until I found a design I liked. I hand quilted it.
Hope this is a better/bigger picture.

This is a great idea, cause i love the avatar pics and always wondering how they did them. Thanks. Here is my addition.
It was done for someone throught the Camp Quality Group with Cancer. I asked them to find someone who would get the most happiness out of it. Camp Quality T-Shirts, put together with help from my Sister who has inspired me to take up quilting.

I made up this pattern as I went along. I call it Buffalo Heaven. I used the French Braid pattern and worked it in to fit the panels of the buffalo pictures. The diamond pictures in between the corner panels are applique and the panels have trapunto. It is not yet quilted.

NativeTexan - what a wonderful way to use those pieces we don't know what to do with, but feel really guilty when we do throw them away. I'll have to remember that when I trim out a larger piece. Thanks!

P.S. Moving to Waco - sometime soon.
