Some people just don't get it. This is one. If you have to explain it to him, he doesn't need it. I like that response , too, if you have to ask the price you can't afford it.

Would he please go to Canada, get a permit, kill one, have the meat processed, the head and skin made into a rug and give you a price for that. He'll start listing the costs of everything including his time off from work. Then tell him that you just want a small bear and couldn't he do it for $200?
Now that is so funny, and so true. Gotta love em.

Thank you!!! When I told someone I wanted $4,000 for a hand pieced Jinny Beyer quilt called triple play with her fabrics at 10.00 per yard they were taken back. I said I really wanted $10,000 becuse it took me so long to mirror image and match book cut all of the peices in the quilt plus hand sew it so each angle was perfect and work with the colors to get the 3D effect. It took over a year working on it every night for a few hours, they laughed. I said if you take this to an appraiser and they tell you how much it would cost to re-create it you would be surprised. I kept the quilt, it is on my bed and it is my prize. Not only is it your skill that you acquire over the years, your time whicn is more precious than gold but your blood, sweat, tears and a part of your soul goes into every quilt. No one can afford me, even if the quilt is not perfect.

    Turn the quilt 3 ways

It has different dimensions at each turn

Sounds like he is willing to spend money on his LIKES but could care less about any thing else.
