I started this quilt for my daughter some time ago. Now its time to put it together and I'm not sure that putting all the blocks side by side would be good. It seems too bright. What do you think? I put this 3 1/2 inch strip next to a block to see if maybe sashings between the blocks would make it seem better. I don't know. HELP!

Keep the blocks together for the secondary design. Quilt the large black areas with varigated, Rainbow thread. Looks fab, press on!

I think it looks great the way it looks in the pic. I think sashing would break up the pattern...just my newbie opinion.

I think it looks great the way it is! I'm thinking of using this pattern for some jewel tone batiks I have. I love the secondary elements that come through without the sashing. I've seen this pattern with sashing before and it just didn't do it for me.

I say keep going - bright is good - white on black helps it pop.

Love it like it is with the blocks creating a diamond lattice design and the outer black border around the whole thing
