    # 2 ... can't explain why, but the 4 patch areas seem to abut different colors,
    so you have greater variety.

    I like sample 2 better. Gives it kind of a 3 dimensional look and more movement.

    I think 2 is too rigid or predictable, one has a few elements that make it look unusual and more difficult of a pattern.
