I plan any quilt. I love scrappy cause it uses up leftover fabrics, i am currently making a moda pattern, that called for one line of their fabrics, and the bricks are all now scraps, each one is different and white charm squares to separate them, I also love planned nice coordinated quilts as well. I take scraps from people, and make lots of charity quilts, soldier quilts and other blocks. And buy
what colors i like as well. Nothing worng with any way
you are the artist, it is your color bin of fabrics.

Both and a crazy quilter too. But I definitely apply the rule that it is my quilt and I can do it my way to all of my projects. I love quilting and need to do more scrappies right now as the left overs from about 50 quilts take up too much space in my sewing room. I am loving the board too!!

I am not in here much, just a stalker, LOL but I had to reply to this one. I do mostly preplan quilts. BUT my husband takes my left over scraps and that is what he makes his quilts out of. Most of the times I like his better than my planned ones.

Some of both. I do love making scrap quilts though. They are easier, somehow, and it's a good exercise in dealing more with values than colors. Besides, I love the old-fashioned designs that work so well with scraps. Most of the "planned" quilts I make are for gifts.

I love both kinds of quilts. I have some fabric matched up for future planned quilts and I also love scrap quilts.
The first couple quilts I made (a little over a year ago), I stressed over picking the fabrics and was not really pleased afterward with the fabrics I chose. Since then, I have been working on a lot of scrappy quilt tops and I think it has helped me to see that a lot of colors I generally would not put together actually do go together beautifully.
I still have a lot of scrappy quilts that I want to do, but I have as many planned quilts on that list as well!! LOL
