I cut strips and weave rugs on my weaving loom.

I make rag totes using denium outside and flannel inside. I cut a square of denium from the backside of a pair of jeans so that the front of tote has a real jeans pocket.
I also use old jeans for putting between to squares of W&N to make potholders.

Michelle, your 3 denim quilts are terrific. I love the one with red in it the best. :-D Very creative.

sorry to hear of your loss! Having diabetes myself I know what a struggle life with this disease can be!

Having said that, make the quilt..you will snuggle into so well...really...I did this for my boys when their dad passed away suddenly from pnuemonia in 2009. Just one week after his 51st birthday. He had not seen his sons in 14 years, but they still loved him and cherish his flannel shirt quilts they own now!
Did you use a certain pattern? I'm not sure where to start, but I know I need to begin somewhere. It's hard to touch the memories.
Jenni, so sorry about your loss. I cannot even imagine how painful it must be for you. I wondered if you have a friend(s) you could trust with your son's clothing that would be willing to make a quilt for you. That might help you and also might help your friend(s) be able to do something to help you out. Often friends feel helpless in knowing how to ease our loved one's pains. God bless you.

I used the legs below the knees (which were worn out) from one pair of jeans, I think. Cut them open along one seam so that I had two large rectangles, folded up the bottom hem to make pockets, and sewed the two halves together, leaving a hole in the middle so that it would go over the gas cap.
I am going to use this idea. Our 4 wheelers are our horses these days

I put a pocket on DGS sweat shirt - he loves it so much I had to do another one so he would change clothes. The other one has a bigger pocket and it is lower so he can get into it.
