If you don't have a favorite yet, look at name blocks for family members, city or state blocks, occupation blocks. A design that will have special meaning for you

I live in a small farming town in Indiana. My garage is the last piece of the old Keck-Gonnerman Steam Engine factory that is left. It is a HUGE 2 story, cinder-block building that is well over 2 stories tall and faces the highway that runs through the town. I've really been considering putting an 8'X 8' Indiana Puzzle block in the front. Don't have a DH so I'd have to hire someone to attach it to the cinder block building. Hmmm....

Feathered star! My daughter painted this for me for my birthday and they hung in on a neighbors barn that lives along the hiway. That is where I wanted it hung so more people could enjoy it. Turned out that the lady that owns the barn was celebrating her birthday that day. Awesome!!

The Iowa Star--it's a little complicated, but since we live in Iowa, it seems the appropriate choice. piecefully, the old one

I live in town, but am thinking of doing a Quilt to hang on the front porch. Would do something with points - perhaps Mariner's Compass.

I would make one of each, and switch them out every week :)

Fine, okay... a log cabin, maybe a boat at sea, since I'm a Sailor, or Crown of Thorns...

We have someone to do that sort of thing in our area. It is my hope to have one this year. Have just the spot for it. The only problem is which quilt pattern? Love the Dresden. That seems to be the one that comes to mind more often.
