I'm looking for a pattern that is like a tube and holds plastic bags. The one I've seen hangs and can be quilted or not quilted. I've also seen one that looks like a doll and the bags are removed from the back of her dress. Do any of you know where I can find some kind of pattern for this? I have plastic bags everywhere!!!!

That is a neat site. This is the first time I've been there. There are so many cute, easy projects. Here is a direct link to the grocery bag holder.

My mom has one that is made from a kitchen towel. Sew the long sides together to make a long tube. Turn the ends of the tube over to make a casing for elastic. Add a hanging loop to one end so it can be hung.

I just used a hand towel. I sewed pockets on each end, threaded an old set of shoe laces in each end then sewed up the long side. tighted up the shoe laces and used that as a hanger.

I have several of these. I also have one made and it is a rabbit with a dress on and the bags come out from the bottom of the dress. It is a patterns I bought years ago, but I don't have it now that I know of. Also I have a tutorial for making one with a flap on it that will open and close. The tutorial is located on www.sewforum.com. I'm on there as my real name and I think you have to be a member to see the tute. It's in the tutorial section. You can also use a sleeve from an old shirt too. Just cut off the sleeve and make a casing at the top of the sleeve and add a loop for hanging and there ya go. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

The tutorial mentioned above is how I make mine, although I usually use one piece of fabric instead of strips. I've given them to everyone I know, and always throw one in the Wishwell at Bridal showers. May in Jersey

Someone gave me one made from 2 place mats. They were sewn together on the long sides with spaces left on top and bottom for putting bags in and taking out and a small handle on top for hanging.
