Is anyone thinking about redrafting some blocks? Some have that little border around the edge, and I'm contemplating sizing things up enough to eliminate it. For example BR1, it would be easy to extend the interior seams to the edge. But on the other hand that little strip eliminates exterior bias. Thoughts?

I'm using Kaffe Fassett fabrics / around the world so I can often get a couple of blocks out of one piece of fabric because the fabric has areas of solids that are different colors. So the blocks look different even if they are out of the same chunk of fabric. That way it doesn't look like I have any repeats. Oof, that was one of the most confusing sentences I've ever written! I hope it makes sense.

On a related note, I've collected more than 50 pieces of Kaffe fabric and I shudder to think what I've spent on this quilt so far - fabric, software, rulers, freezer paper, Aurifil thread, etc. I even bought a new iron. I'm just ignoring the cost. In for a penny, in for a pound on this project.

Hmmmm....interesting. I don't know if I am thinking right but I think it would be okay to eliminate the little strip if you are doing paper piecing and leave the paper on until that BR1 block it is sewn to the other blocks on all three sides. -Judy

Have you checked to see if there are "plug-ins" ... I'm not exactly sure what they are other than something you can frequently download from a site that produces software that acts as an adapter to either update or adjust the way your system reads a program. Don't know if I am explaining it correctly. My daughter had a game she loved to play on her PC which is only available compatible with older versions of her Mac, which she doesn't have. Someone told her about plugins - she downloaded and now can use the program without a problem.

I'm doing an Around the World color pattern too and all my main colors will be different in each block. I'll reuse background though but not many times per print. I have all my fabs color cordinated in a big container and as I use one I move it to a new container. It's working for me
    Good idea.

I have about 50 different fabrics a well. I don't know exactly what I am going to do yet. I love the Kaffe line of fabrics.
All of the blocks are so beautiful with their own personalities.
I still can't get my printer to print. I just bought it. I may have to have "the geek squad" come out. I have only done week one so far. I am having to draw the patterns by hand.
