Default my new kitchen window valance

The first picture is a wall hanging from a kit I had for years...finally sewed it together and I don't like it at all. The second picture is my new kitchen window valance I sewed when we were in Texas for the winter. I came home to Minnesota and hung it up and it fit perfect!

Your umbrella wallhanding is cute. Your valance looks amazing! Does it have batting in it? It looks like stain glass with the light from behind it.

The valance is great. Looks just like stained glass. How do you keep the seam allowances from showing?
    Just love it.
