Pattern is in a book called Tradition with a Twist.

I can't imagine doing this without a design wall. You will definitely want to "test" the fabrics. I swapped out at least two that didn't work. The celery is growing on me for the reasons others have stated. go to images.google.com and search for "blooming nine patch" for other ideas.

My LQS has a sample up for a kit that is fantastic. I started doing some research and found your blooming 9 patch. It is lovely! I'm gathering fabrics now...started with an Asian style floral from my stash and have found another line I hope will be complimentary. I'm planning on using the 8 different colors as Blanche Young's pattern (Traditions with a Twist) suggests. I just hope I get a result as lovely as yours. Oh, the sample at my local shop was done with a panel fussy cut to blend parts into the whole pattern.
