Thank you for such nice comments everyone!
As I said on page 9, I now think a more free-style all over design is the way to go. Any thoughts or ideas on this would be terrific!
I get the red x's too Nantie and another member just wrote to say she does too. Not sure what happened to the pics when the QB changed over. Clearly some folks can see them, which puzzles me. If you still would like to see them, I could email them to you if you PM me.

Wow, these ideas are great! I just finished my OBW top and was looking for ideas. "Dixie_fried" linked to your post from mine where I was asking about suggestions for FMQing it. Thank you so much!!!

So thrilled to see your designs, curious to how you do a design in paint, maybe a tutorial on how you do that if not to difficult to explain. Your designs are so neat and creative, also curious what size hexagon did you use for your template or do you use another method to scale your designs? Thanks again.

quiltingcurious, answering your questions about how to design in paint would be very hard. I couldn't begin to attempt a tutorial, but i did find two web pages from Microsoft that explain the basics very well:

The more you fool around with it, the quicker you learn. I love Paint, even more than Photoshop Elements, although that is because I haven't learned how to use PE as well yet.
I use the copy and paste feature the most, when I have a design with repetitive elements like these templates.
I also use Paint to supplement my EQ design software. Its a great tool!
You asked what size hexagon I use. The picture in Paint isn't any particular size. If you need a life size pattern to follow, you would scale them when you print the page to fit the size of the hexagons in your One Block Wonder. Before the QB changed over, you could click on the "Download" button under each picture and tranfer it to your computer. That option has for some reason disappeared.
