Red face Thanks for the ideas...

I see all the wonderful rooms, thank you. Now I feel insecure. That's ok, I aspire to get busy on my room. I have two projects to get done in the house, then MY room is next. I was very lucky, when we built this house we designed a large room for me. It is the size of a 2 and a half car garage. But things happened in our life and my sewing was put aside. The room got filled with other people's stuff. Well, a few months ago I said i am done with keeping other people's memories(aka=junk). I sifted out a pick up truck load of stuff, put it on the porch, and called the owners. Wednesday is trash day, come and get it or it is at the curb. Most seemed like trash anyway, to the curb!
I can see 4 of the 8 corners of the room, and most of the floor! There is hope!
I have purchased core board to start folding my fabrics. I have purchased bins, drawers and bookcases.
I have enough fabric to last 2 lifetimes and inspiration to fulfill.
    I AM READY!
    (cross your fingers)

Congratulations on reclaiming your space!! Start on one section at a time and before you know it you will have a comfortable, inspiring spot to create in. Now go get busy!

I feel for everyone who is hurting right now, and there are a lot of people in trouble. I also have a room full of someone else's junk. And it's my paint room! It's where I paint oils and watercolors. I think I've forgotten it's been so long, I'm gonna be putting it out on the curb one of these days. Here is hoping everyone will find a job, and be able to relax in our old age. AND HAVE FUN AND QUILT!

It seems that for a while that everyone wanted to store their stuff. My husband let the grandkids and other family store stuff at our house, because he thought we had more room and it would not be in the way. Of course when it got so bad, I closed the door and let it go. I complained, without anyone hearing me. One day my husband said something about getting help to come in and clean, since it seemed I could not keep up. I blew up. I told him if I did not have to pick up after people who did not even live in our house, I would have no problem. Within a few minutes I pulled out several bags of junk that did not belong to either of us. It amazed him that that was even stored here. He now understands and is helping me. I threw out a dumpster full last week. What a great feeling I have. Family is not happy, but they can pick it out of the dumpster if they want it that bad. Can you imagine finding 3 old computers, and having the owner wonder why should not hold on to them, just in case he can fix them? Enjoyed tossing a monitor to see how far it would go. Storing other people's childrens outgrown clothes, in hopes another child can wear them...can you say DONATION? I hope to have this room ready to paint in about one month. I am ready to enjoy my home and my own creative space. Whooohooo!

Woo hoo -good for you!! I can't wait to see what you do with your reclaimed space. I used this board and others for inspiration when I re-did my room last summer. My hubby is gonna have a cow when I get home from work, cause I want to move some things around this weekend. LOL

Just got a call from hubby...he stopped at the hardware store and bought trash bags...he said be ready, this weekend he will help me. He also talked to a family member who was surprise to find out that WE are reclaiming OUR home. He said he was thinking about bringing over some more of his stuff to store so his family could have more room! I spent most of the day sorting out bags of clothes. I washed 4 loads, of only good clothes, so I can donate them to a local womans shelter. If it needed any repairs, I threw it out. Not on my list to do. I decided I am done doing laundry on someone else's old clothes, donation without cleaning....sorry. One of the projects I needed to work on at home was finished between cleaning my room and this a stuff. Now that is done, I have one more project in the house, and I may work on that tomorrow evening and after work in Saturday. I am on such a roll, I am afraid I may throw out something of mine! This is soooo good, I feel revitalized, free. Literally a load has been lifted from me. Camera out and ready.

Good for you! It's surprising (sort of) how some people can take for granted a nice gesture and then keep on taking.
I think they just don't THINK. "Could I be imposing?" "Would they have other uses for their space?" Oh, well. Sometimes we just need to use some "tough love."

Yoohoo for you and your DH! You will enjoy the reclaimed space and cleaning will be so easy. Sounds like you have a great hubby for picking up those trash bags.

Glad to hear you are taking a stand & reclaiming what should have been yours all along. Stand your ground & finally make it the space you have been dreaming about for all this time. Oh Yeah, buy a good padlock & use it. Ha Ha.
