oh you mean not everybody does that? I now have about 45 projects started. I do finish some on a regular basis but then for every one I finish I start 2. I call this quilting ADD.

I have a "stack" of completed quilt tops on which I need to get the LAQ done---my machine (always have a customer's quilt that needs to be finished.) I also have a stack of started projects..a strip quilt, the blocks from several quilt block exchanges, BOM's from JoAnns. I would like nothing better than spend a week in my quilting room....finishing UFOs.

Lori, I am like you I have at least 14 tops to be quilted, and 15 project to be complete at various stages. I have blocks that I have made from scraps that I have no idea how I am going to piece them together. I was fascinated how a blocked looked so I would put it together just "because" not necessarily for a quilt. So I have several of those hanging on skirt hangers on a my curtain rod window in the sewing room. I love the journey and it takes two to five years to finish a project. Whats wrong with that!

I have about 10 quilts in various stages of completion. That does not count the quilts that are ready for the LAQ as there are about 5-6 of them in there. It doesn't bother me at all since they are nicely kept in their plastic bags with all the fabric and thread there with them. When the Muse visits me again, I will work on whichever one the Muse picks. No stress, this is my hobby and I have time. If not, well then that will be the DD's problem. LOL.

I don't have room for more than one quilt at a time. Altho I do finish the tops and put away. Don't have room to store a finished quilt. When I get enough money, I choose one to have quilted. Thing is I have more quilt tops than money. Some day I will learn how to send the pictures of the tops.l

I do not start one until the one is finished.I visualized me dying and all these quilts unfinished hitting the garbage can and I plod on.I will plan the next one but no further than that.

I'm right there with you DeMaris! I work on whatever I feel like doing right that very minute. One of the joys of being retired!

I think I have like 12 or so that I work on . I get tired of the same fabric and so I put it away and start working on another one. Now I'm talking about the quilting. My MIL gave me maybe 14 quilt tops before she died and then I start quilting them. I hand quilt . So don't feel bad about having more than one quilt going at a time. Do it how YOU like to work not the way someone else does it.
