Those are both beautiful quilts. They are both so bright and colorful! Great Job! :)

    Hi Nano:
Thanks for identifying yourself as the inspiration for my Roman Stripe. I love it and I've about decided it'll stay on my bed. I still have to sandwich and finish it but was excited about "showing it off." I sewed many long 2 or 3 inch strips together the long way then subcut them in 5 inch widths to make the stripes.

The border on the other scrappy quilt is just LEFT OVER half square triangles that I've collected in a bag for years from other projects. WE grew up poor and I learned early in life you DO NOT waste anything that you might be able to use later. So, when I made this scrappy quilt I decided to sew each of those little half sq. triangle buggers together and make a border for the quilt. I like the look and will probably do it again in the future. I just took some pictures so will come back and post them when I get them off the camera.

    Hi AnnMarie:
We didn't have a pattern. At our quilt group meeting we take turns doing a "program" which is just teaching the rest of the group how to make a new block. The program that this scrap quilt came from was just such a quilt. We were told to gather up our "scraps" and sew them in strips as wide as you wanted your block to be but it was suggested that we have at least 12 1/2 inches wide strips then we cut each long strip into 12 1/2 inch square BLOCKS. We then cut each of these 12 1/2 inch squares cross-wise from corner to corner ("X" cut corner to corner). Now we have 4 triangles. Throw all the triangle in a bag and pulled them out and sew them to another triangle from another strip section to make new square. My blocks are sewn on point then I used the left over triangles to fill in at the corners and around the edges. Very easy and fun and this particular quilt I put high loft batting in the sandwich so it's very soft and nice. My nephew is going to love it as he's our little quilt guy...he's a cuddler and wants a lap and a quilt to tuck around him. He's 8 years old and getting big for my lap but he still likes it! :D
