    How creative! Just love it! Don't think I've ever worked with combed cotton. What exactly is that?

    Yes, unisex ... and being a wrap with the drop sleeves, fitting it to the individual is not an issue, either.

    Technically, I'm not sure!

    IMHO it's pretty much the same as flannelette.
    It's not quite so bulky, so perhaps a finer weave?
    It used to be a common men's winter shirt material, usually in plaid, and used as a dress shirt, rather than as a work shirt.
