Take the quilt to a long armer with the backing (buy one of the wide fabrics so you don't have to piece the back) and they will finish the quilt (for a price -- put it on your credit card, etc.)

    Prayers for your hubby.

My husband's step mother like to quilt only, she hates to sew. She has a friend that only pieces tops and don't quilt. Perfect duo.

Before you donate them consider selling them. Craigs list or other on line sites. There are people that buy them.

What is "quilt by credit card"? Is this a quilting term or does it mean pay by credit card. Please excuse my ignorance.

Do what you like...especially when it makes you happy! You may decide you like to quilt your tops in the future, or not. It doesn't matter if you are happy! Good wishes for your husband's health!

If you only enjoy making the tops, you absolutely can gift them. You can also sell them. Some long arm quilters will trade tops for quilting.

Sorry you don't like all the aspects of quilting. You can do as you like with your work.

I am fortunate that I love all the quilting process from start to finish.

Jingle, I hope some day I will be able to say the same. I have really been inspired by all of the wonderful responses to my question. So I am just going to "keep on - keepin' on" until I can not only say it , but feel it, too.

I don't like the sandwiching part of doing a quilt either and that's because I suck at it. Why don't you just tie your quilts like our grandmas used to do? It's your quilt so quilt it any way you like. It sounds like you need some distractions in your life. You should just go ahead and make some more quilt tops. Somehow you'll find a way to finish the others. Sorry about your darling husband. Cancer really sucks!
