You write up how you want it to appear (so think about all the things you want them to know and want them to include, so you don't forget like I did about, PM when sent/received, any international, etc) and then you submit it to a moderator for approval, then you post it like normal and wait for hte PMs to roll in.

Thanks Ana! Have to work it up, get together suggestions for every room, etc. Sounds like a winner!

My boyfriend took it out to make bread and frikadeller (Danish style meatballs you can also squash into patties and pan sear...YUM!) before Christmas and decided it was too much trouble to move my fabric to put it back. .
Do you have a recipe for Frikadeller you wish to share? We make abelskievers and have roolepolsa (sp), cold ham, light fruit salad and meatballs - it used to be our traditional Christmas Eve dinner until a few years ago. I would love to have a traditional danish meatball recipe to go with the rest of the meal.

um this house swap thing is something out of fabric correct? as we are a fabric site in theory I guess it should have fabric as the main ingredient. I know I have this little plastic square basket (kinda a fancy strawberry size basket?) that I picked up at the thrift store. It is now packing tape taped to the edge of the kitchen table for sewing scraps. a real scrap basket would be a great thing most could use. when company came and I cleared the table I couldnt easily get the darned basket off. just an idea of things we all could use.. wall hanging, welcome signs..I own only one grocery tote ..totes are good (I personally have not made one).. um bathroom: toilet roll covers, kleenex covers, fabric baskets are good for anything from coins to candy to make up.. plastic bag holders (have you seen those?) what else am i missing house wise.. OH OH OH APRONS I love an apron with a nice long pocket in front waist level? none of those little useless ones near the top lol .. ok shut up. lots of house things. think it might get ok'd if it has fabric used in it. quilted is probably best however or used in quilting.

This is so true! Especially since we are leaving Ohio next week and will be in Florida for 5 weeks. If mine doesn't arrive before we go, I'll have to wait until mid February to see it. So, let's hope it is in the mail!

Oh my, I've never met anyone else who even knew what frikadeller was! I'm not sure that I'll be able to pry the recipe that we used away from my boyfriend (it's his grandmother's), but I had this one because I was going to make it, and when I'd showed it to him, he said it was close.

1 lb each ground veal and pork
    2 eggs
1 finely minced onion (we run ours through the grinder attachment on our stand mixer, then strain off most of the water)
    2 tsp salt
    1-2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (we used Italian and it turned out fine, or you can use plain
    water

Mix all ingredients in a bowl except the water. Add enough water for the breadcrumbs not to make the meat dry. Form into patties the size of small hamburgers and fry over medium heat for 5 minutes per side.

This is traditionally served with boiled potatoes that have been caramelized, and white cabbage that looks like it's been minced until it almost has the consistency of mashed potatoes. They're also served with thin sliced dark bread. Leftovers are usually served on the bread, which has a thin layer of butter on it, as an open-faced sandwich.

Rolepolse is something I miss when we're not there, but since we can't get the breakfast rolls here, it's OK. We got an abelskiever pan from Denmark and brought it home, and they have both a cookbook and the generic mix for it at World Market here, which we got before Christmas but haven't tried yet.

    Enjoy!
